¹⁴ And David remained in the strongholds in the wilderness, in the hill country ^(A)of the wilderness of ^(B)Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not give him into his hand.

Saul Pursues David

¹⁵ David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. David was in the wilderness of Ziph at Horesh.

^19 (A)Then the Ziphites went up to Saul at Gibeah, saying, “Is not David hiding among us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hachilah, which is south of ^(B)Jeshimon?

²⁴ And they arose and went to Ziph ahead of Saul.

Now David and his men were ^(A)in the wilderness of Maon, ^(B)in the Arabah to the south of ^(C)Jeshimon.

David Spares Saul Again

26 ^(A)Then the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah, saying, “Is not David hiding himself on the hill of Hachilah, which is on the east of Jeshimon?” ² So Saul arose and went down to ^(B)the wilderness of Ziph with ^(C)three thousand chosen men of Israel to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.
