The Church’s Growth

³¹ So the church^(A) throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

¹¹ Therefore, since we know the fear of the Lord,^(A) we try to persuade people. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your consciences.

7 So then, dear friends, since we have these promises,^(A) let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit,^(B) bringing holiness to completion^[a] in the fear of God.^(C)

¹² Therefore, my dear friends,^(A) just as you have always obeyed,^(B) so now, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
