⁹ I am going to send for all the families of the north’^(A)—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘and send for my servant^(B) Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will bring them against this land, against its residents, and against all these surrounding nations, and I will completely destroy them and make them an example of horror^(C) and scorn, and ruins forever.^(D)

¹³ For by myself I have sworn”^(A)—this is the Lord’s declaration—“Bozrah^[a] will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and an example for cursing, and all its surrounding cities will become ruins forever.”^(B)

⁴ Though Edom says, “We have been devastated, but we will rebuild^[a] the ruins,” the Lord of Armies says this: “They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called a wicked country^(A) and the people the Lord has cursed^[b] forever.^(B)
